Privacy Policy

Personal information collected by Judo Western Australia (Inc.) is primarily for the purpose of individual membership, club affiliation and/or competition purposes.

Collection of Information

The association collects information either directly from individuals or indirectly fro third parties. For example, when completing a membership registration form an individual will provide information about themselves and may also provide information about in relation to another individual that they wish to be contacted in case of an emergency.

If you provide personal information to the Association about other individuals, the Association relies upon you to have made that individual aware that you will or may be providing their information to the Association.

Security of Information

The Association endeavours to protect any information that it holds from:

• Misuse,

• Loss

• Disclosure

• Modification, and

• Unauthorised use.

Information is held secure with the office bearers of the Association.

Disclosure of Information

Information collected by the Association will not:

• Be released for any form of commercial gain

• Be disclosed for any purpose that is unrelated to the Judo service that the Association provides and that you would not reasonably expect (except with your consent).

Access to Information

An individual can gain access to the their personal information held by the Association by applying in writing, through the club that they are registered with the Association as a member of, to the Association Secretary.

Any query relating to the Association Privacy Policy should be made to the Association Secretary.

Information Collection

The main method of collecting information utilised by the Association is the Club Affiliation Form and the Individual registration Form. Each form contains the following clause outlining the basics of the Association Privacy Policy:

• Club – ‘Judo western Australia (Inc.) has a privacy policy and the club acknowledges that the information provided is necessary for the objects of the JWA (Inc.). The club acknowledges and agrees that the information will be disclosed to the JFA (Inc.) and will only be used for the objects of the JWA (Inc.) and to provide the club with affiliation services. The club understands that it can access this information from the JWA (Inc.). If the information is not provided the club understands that its affiliation application may be rejected.’

• Membership – ‘Judo western Australia (Inc.) has a privacy policy and I acknowledge that the information I have provided is necessary for the objects of the JWA (Inc.). I acknowledge and agree that the information will be disclosed to my Club and will only be used for the objects of the JWA (Inc.) and to provide me with membership services. I understand that I will be able to access my information through my club. If the information is not provided my membership application may be rejected.’

Complaints

Any complaint concerning a breach of privacy is to be made in writing to the Association Secretary or the Association's Member Protection Officer.
