Judo Federation of Australia - National Championships 2005

Well the JFA (Inc.) Nationals have been and gone. There was a good turn out with approximately 450 entrants.

The event was conducted over three days on three full size tatami (=Judo mat). What follows is a short summary of the team and its achievements.

The WA team consisted of:

Charles Kobelke - Mens Under 100Kg

Jamie McLeod - Mens Under 81Kg

Steve Clarke - Mens Under 81Kg

Mii Teremoana - Under 16yrs Over 81Kg

Sean Klimek - Under 16yrs Under 55Kg

Keegan Bignoux - Under 16yrs Under 42Kg

Peter Middleton - Coach

Carlo Knoester - Referee

Ian Weaver - Referee

Peter Woollons - Sports Commissioner

Overall it was a good event for WA though we did have only a small team.

Sean achieved 1st place (gold)

Keegan achieved 1st place (gold)

Charles achieved 3rd place (bronze)

All our other athletes put in their best but were unfortunately unable to place on the day.

Next year the Nationals are here in Perth !!!
