|POSTPONED - 2020 Judo WA State Championships
Statement from Board of Directors of JudoWA
Suspension of WA State Championships and cancellation of WA State squad training
Due to the threat from COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in response to
government and expert medical advice, the Board of Directors of Judo
Western Australia (Inc.) has made the decision to indefinitely postpone
the WA State Championships that were to be held on 29 March 2020.
In addition, all training sessions scheduled for the WA State squad will be cancelled until further notice.
The Board has also taken the decision to suspend all Dojo Dinosaurs sessions until further notice.
Board understands the impact this may have on players, coaches and
referees to participate at a State level, however, we must err on the
side of caution in protecting the health and wellbeing of all
participants and their families.
Board is extremely grateful for the tremendous research and expert
advice provided by the Judo WA Medical Officer, Dr John Larkin. The
Board will continue to assess the situation and act on advice provided
by experts and in line with government directives.
