Judo WA is proud to announce the remarkable accomplishment of Celeste Knoester, who recently attended the Almaty Asian Junior Cup 2024 as a referee and earned her promotion to Continental Referee.
Between 6-7 July 2024, Celeste undertook a series of rigorous assessments at the event. These included a language evaluation, a written test, an interview, and four days of practical evaluation. This exhaustive process was part of the Continental Referee Examination conducted by the International Judo Federation.
We are delighted to congratulate Celeste on her successful promotion to the prestigious Continental Referee licence. This achievement is a testament to her dedication, skill, and passion for judo. Celeste’s journey has been one of perseverance and excellence, and we are thrilled to see her hard work recognised on an international level.
Celeste Knoester is not just a remarkable referee; she is also one of the esteemed coaches at Kano Judo Schools, a member club of Judo WA. Her contributions to our community extend beyond her coaching role, as she also serves as an Elected Director of Judo WA. Her multifaceted involvement in the sport exemplifies her commitment to the growth and development of judo in Western Australia.
As Celeste continues her refereeing pathway, we wish her continued success and look forward to seeing her officiate at more international events. Her achievements inspire us all and highlight the exceptional talent within our judo community.
