Following the 2025 National Championships, over 20 dedicated Western Australian judoka remained on the Gold Coast to participate in Judo Australia’s two-day National Training Camp from Monday, 9 June to Tuesday, 10 June.

Spanning two intensive sessions per day, the camp brought together athletes from across the country and across age divisions – from Under 13s to veterans – for a unique opportunity to train under the guidance of Judo Australia’s National Coaching Team. It provided a high-performance environment that fostered not only technical development but also camaraderie and connection among Australia’s judo community.

Western Australia’s strong contingent exemplified the commitment and passion our athletes continue to show beyond competition day. Their decision to stay and train reflects the hunger to grow, improve, and engage with judo at the highest level.

WA State Coaches Luc Tournier and Jacob Lekias also took part in the camp, providing continuity of support for our athletes and reinforcing the strength of our state program.

Judo WA extends its thanks to Judo Australia for hosting the camp and commends all WA participants for their continued dedication to their development on and off the tatami.
