The 2025 Australian School Championships were held at the Chandler Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, on Sunday, 28 October 2025, running alongside the UniSport Nationals judo competition. The event brought together students from schools across Australia to contest national school titles on the tatami.

Western Australia was represented by two student judoka, who both delivered strong performances and brought pride to their schools and home clubs.

Representing Bob Hawke College, Zechariah Navea (Perth Judo Club) impressed across two divisions. He claimed gold in the U15 Boys / U55 kg category and backed it up with a silver medal in the Young Men / -55 kg division. His results underline his consistency and competitiveness at both age and open youth levels.

Logan Ramsden (Kano Judo Schools), representing Lake Joondalup Baptist College, also put in a strong showing. Competing in the U15 Boys / U50 kg division, Logan fought hard throughout the day and secured a 5th place finish in a competitive field.

The championships saw a wide spread of schools represented on the medal tally. At the top of the standings, Maribyrnong College (VIC) claimed first place overall, followed by St Patrick’s College Strathfield (NSW) in second, and The King’s School (NSW) in third. For Western Australia, Bob Hawke College finished in 8th place thanks to Zechariah’s medals, while Lake Joondalup Baptist College gained valuable national-level experience.

Congratulations to Zechariah and Logan for proudly representing both their schools and WA judo at the 2025 Australian School Championships.
