Community Engagement Officer

The Board of Judo Western Australia (Inc) has appointed Christopher Erikson in the position of Executive Officer.

Chris is stepping away from the corporate sector where he had more than three decades of experience in founding, leading and transforming organisations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

During the past 14 years Chris has led both the West Australian Football Commission and the WA football industry through an exciting period of transformation, governance and accountability of the organisation while building, and fostering strong relations across all stakeholders to the game, Local, State and Federal Government.

Chris holds the role of Director of Talent at the West Perth Football Club where he leads talent identification and development. He also delivered significant long-term enduring marquee sponsors/partners as the Executive Director Brand and Partnerships.

Chris is married to Tania and they have five children, three boys and two girls. All Chris’ boys have been judo players and his youngest son, Keeran, is still actively involved.

The Board thanks Jacob Read for the caretaker role he performed during the process of identifying and appointing a new Executive Officer. Jacob always goes above and beyond what is required of him and we are extremely grateful for his service.
