In March 2024, Judo Australia enhanced the Coach Accreditation Framework to its current form, CAF 2.0. The framework keeps four program levels, with the first three focused on a more general coaching model. Senior Coaches can specialise further through Judo Australia’s Advanced Certificate pathway.

Level 1: Assistant Coach is delivered by Judo WA (Head Coach statement of support — no practical course; accreditation fee $50). Level 2: Sensei Coach ($100) and Level 3: Senior Coach ($120) require theory completion plus a State practical course organised by Judo WA. Fees for Levels 1–3 include a $50 Judo Australia component. Level 4: Advanced Senior Coach is managed nationally by Judo Australia.

JA no longer requires long-term coaches to repeat the same full certification every four years. Instead, accreditation maintenance moves to recurring and refresher requirements. You do not need to repeat courses you have already completed — supply evidence and undertake an alternate refresher where offered.

Online theory typically needs accounts on the Australian Sport Learning Centre (nominate Judo) and SIA Edge. Keep an eye on upcoming coaching courses, use the matrix below to compare requirements, and see Coach Resources for program documents. National detail lives on the Judo Australia Coach Accreditation page.
