The Board of Judo WA  is delighted to announce that Jacob Read has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the organisation. Jacob succeeds Chris Erikson who will join Judo Australia February 2022. Chris will remain an integral member of the Judo WA Leadership team in a Commercial and Operational capacity.

Martin Ross, Chairman Judo WA, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Chris for his significant contribution to Judo, it is great that he will stay actively involved with Judo WA. I have no doubt that his involvement with Judo Australia will benefit judo in Western Australia”.

Chris Erikson, commented: “I look forward to continuing to work with Judo WA, the Chairman, the Board and the excellent management team led by Jacob. I have every confidence that we will maintain current momentum and continue to deliver on our strategy focused on growth of Judo in WA.”

Not at all a stranger to the Judo WA family, Jacob Read is an influential and decisive leader who has achieved exceptional successes, strong and robust relationships with government, corporate and community sectors, and a high level of personal commitment, professionalism, and integrity.

Martin Ross, Chairman Judo WA, said: “Judo WA is delighted to have attracted someone as talented as Jacob to continue our strong tradition of community service and build upon the outstanding work that is delivered by our members and stakeholders every day. We are confident that in Jacob we have someone who will lead the organisation with innovation, distinction and integrity”.
