Western Australian athletes are once again ready to make their mark on the international Judo stage. We’re thrilled to congratulate and wish the best of luck to a talented group of our WA judokas who will be representing Australia at the prestigious 2023 Macau Cadet & Junior Cup in China this weekend. This competition is a significant milestone for our athletes who have worked hard to attain this recognition and opportunity.

Stepping onto the mats for the cadet event, we have Vas Middleton and Maelie Tournier, both hailing from Judo International, competing in the under 60kg and under 48kg categories, respectively. From the UWA Judo Club, we have O’ren Kelly participating in the women’s under 57kg category. Their dedication and passion for the sport have seen them climb up the ranks and we can’t wait to see them in action.

Fans can follow the progress of these young warriors and cheer for them from afar by visiting the competition’s official website: Cadet Event Overview.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Our cadets will once again step onto the mats for the junior event on Sunday. They will be joined by an equally determined and promising group of competitors. Jordon Greenbank and Kimi Jost from UWA Judo Club will compete in the men’s under 66kg category. Adding to the mix will be Timeo Tournier in the men’s under 60kg category and Saya Middleton in the women’s under 70kg category from Judo International.

Follow their journey and experience the thrill of their matches by visiting the official website for the junior event: Junior Event Overview.

We’re incredibly proud of our athletes and have the utmost faith that they will showcase the high standard of Australian Judo to the world. As they step onto the international stage, we know they will carry with them not just their personal aspirations, but also the hopes and support of their clubs, coaches, teammates, and the entire Judo WA community.

Good luck to all our competitors. Australia is behind you!
