On Friday, 25 August 2023, Judo WA convened its Annual General Meeting for the 2023 financial year at SportHQ – the home of SportWest.

Thank you to all the attendees, including our member clubs, Directors, and staff. It was fantastic to have so many key individuals from the judo community together to celebrate and reflect upon the past twelve months.

There have been notable changes in the leadership structure of Judo WA. We are delighted to announce the re-election of Melissa Dennehy and Celeste Knoester to the Judo WA Board. Moreover, we are thrilled to welcome Peter Woollons of UWA Judo Club to the Board. A seasoned figure in our community, Peter served on Judo WA’s previous Board of Management and held the position of Judo WA’s Sporting Director until 2017.

However, it’s also a moment to bid farewell and express immense gratitude. Martin Ross, an essential pillar of the Judo WA Board since September 2019, stepped down this year. Having served a significant part of his tenure as the Chair of Judo WA, his leadership, dedication, and strategic vision have been instrumental. We extend our deepest appreciation to Martin for the indelible mark he has left on Judo WA.

For those eager to delve deeper into our year’s activities and successes, Judo WA’s 2023 Annual Report can be accessed here.
