The 2025 Fuel to Go & Play Judo WA State Championships were held on Sunday, 30 March at the Gold Netball Centre, bringing together nearly 200 athletes from across Western Australia for a thrilling day of competition.
Seven clubs were represented in this year’s championships, with judoka of all ages and experience levels stepping onto the mat in pursuit of State titles. The level of judo on display was exceptional, reflecting the dedication of WA’s athletes, coaches, and clubs.
In the individual competition, UWA Judo Club was crowned the overall champion club, with strong performances across multiple divisions. Australian Institute of Judo and Kano Judo Schools followed in second and third place respectively, showcasing the depth of talent within the WA judo community.
A major highlight of this year’s event was the introduction of a Mixed Teams competition in the Cadets+ (15 years and older) category – a first for the Judo WA State Championships. Each team featured three male and three female competitors, adding a dynamic new format to close out the day. Four teams entered the inaugural edition, with UWA Judo Club once again emerging victorious in an exhilarating finale.
