The 2025 Adelaide International Open, part of Judo Australia’s National Event Series, saw a small but determined contingent of Western Australian athletes take to the tatami. Representing UWA Judo Club, three WA athletes competed across four divisions and delivered an impressive return of three silver medals.

Silver Medalists

  • Alexander Vasilyev (UWA Judo Club) – Senior Men / −81 kg
  • Angus Baird (UWA Judo Club) – Senior Men / −90 kg
  • Hugo Polankai (UWA Judo Club) – Senior Men / Open

Other Competitors

  • Hugo Polankai (UWA Judo Club) – Senior Men / −90 kg

With Adelaide complete, WA athletes now turn their attention to the 2025 Perth International Open, scheduled for Sunday, 7 September—just two weeks away—bringing top-level national competition to our home mats.

Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, and supporters for another fantastic result on the national stage!
