On Sunday, 30 November 2025, Judo WA proudly hosted its end-of-year Dan Grading, marking an exciting milestone for four dedicated judoka who achieved promotion to 1st Dan (Shodan).

We are delighted to announce that Alexander Vasilyev and Estela Hogarth of UWA Judo Club, Rudi Muller of Perth Judo Club, and Leonie Zenari of Broome Judo Club successfully passed their Dan examinations. Each promotion reflects years of perseverance, technical growth, and a deep commitment to the art and values of judo. Congratulations to all four on these exceptional and well-earned achievements.

Judo WA extends its sincere appreciation to the Grading Committee and the official grading panel — Carlo Knoester, Simon Read, Peter Woollons, and Paul Kendrick — for their continued leadership, expertise, and dedication in upholding the integrity and standards of Dan gradings across Western Australia.

We look forward to seeing Alexander, Estela, Rudi, and Leonie continue to develop as judoka and as positive influences within the WA judo community.
