Today, five enthusiastic young judoka from Western Australia boarded their flight to Canberra to participate in the 2025 Judo Australia NextGen Camp, held from January 9th to 12th at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

The NextGen Camp offers a fantastic opportunity for these budding athletes to sharpen their skills, learn from experienced coaches and mentors, and connect with peers from across the nation. The camp’s focus on technical training, physical development, and high-performance education makes it an invaluable experience for any aspiring judoka.

Representing WA this year are:

  • Isaac Chinchilla (UWA Judo Club)
  • Mia Siboni (Perth Judo Club)
  • Lena Wolak (Perth Judo Club)
  • Chloe Tournier (UWA Judo Club)
  • Micah Letufuga (Australian Institute of Judo)

They are joined by Catia Maia, one of WA’s State Coaches, who is also part of the coaching team for this year’s camp.

We are incredibly proud of these athletes and their commitment to representing Western Australia on this national platform. Stay tuned for updates as Isaac, Mia, Lena, Chloe, Micah, and Coach Catia make the most of this exciting experience.

Good luck, team WA!
