State Training Brings WA Judoka Together in Welshpool

Judo WA’s latest State Training session was held on Sunday, 30 August at the Australian Institute of Judo in Welshpool, providing athletes with another valuable opportunity to train alongside judoka from across Western Australia.

While attendance was smaller than at some previous State Training sessions, those who took part made the most of the additional time on the mat, working through a range of drills and getting in plenty of rounds against different training partners.

State Training continues to provide an important opportunity for athletes to supplement their regular club training, experience a wider variety of styles and training partners, and strengthen connections between judoka from clubs across the state.

With a busy period of competition ahead, the session also provided athletes with another chance to sharpen their judo and build valuable mat time alongside their peers.

Judo WA thanks our State Coaches Catia Maia, John Commerford and Luc Tournier for giving their time and expertise to lead the sessions, as well as the Australian Institute of Judo for hosting State Training.

Thank you to all athletes and clubs who supported the session. We look forward to seeing even more of the WA judo community on the mat at the next State Training.
