Practical Referee Course

Judo WA is pleased to invite referees of all levels to attend an upcoming Practical Refereeing Course, delivered by Judo WA Referee Committee Chair, Celeste Knoester.

Celeste is an international-level referee currently active on the IJF World Judo Tour, bringing extensive experience from officiating at high-level international competition.

The course will have a strong practical focus and is designed to help participants develop greater confidence and understanding in applying the judo refereeing rules in real competition situations.

The session is open to all levels of experience, from aspiring and emerging youth referees taking their first steps in officiating, through to Judo WA's most experienced referees. Coaches and others interested in developing their understanding of refereeing are also encouraged to attend.

Participants will have the opportunity to work through practical scenarios, discuss interpretations and decision-making, and learn directly from Celeste's experience refereeing at the international level.

What to Bring

All participants are required to bring a white judo gi for the practical components of the course.
