Judo WA is excited to announce that registrations are now open for the 2026 Perth International Open, returning to the Gold Netball Centre in Jolimont this September.
The competition will begin with Kata on Friday, 11 September, before a full day of Shiai competition on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
As the only Australian National Event Series competition held on the west coast, the Perth International Open provides an important opportunity for Western Australian judoka to compete against athletes from interstate and overseas without leaving their home state.

Divisions for all ages and levels
The Perth International Open features an extensive competition program, with opportunities available for judoka of different ages, grades and abilities.
Divisions will include:
- Under 9
- Under 11
- Under 13
- Under 15
- Cadet
- Junior
- Senior
- Veterans
- Kyu Grade
- Adaptive Judo
- Kata
- Senior Mixed Teams Competition
Cadet, Junior and Senior athletes will also have the opportunity to earn valuable points towards the Australian National Points Table.
Whether athletes are stepping onto the competition mat for the first time or pursuing national selection and ranking points, the Perth International Open promises a high-quality weekend of competition in Western Australia.
Post-event training camp
The action will continue at UWA Judo Club on Sunday, 13 September, with a post-event training camp providing athletes with another opportunity to train alongside judoka from across Australia and overseas.
Participation in the camp is free for all athletes registered to compete in the 2026 Perth International Open. Athletes who are not competing in the event may also register for the camp for $20.
